I know I keep using the word "magical," but there really isn't another word that can do this experience justice. My favorite color in the entire world is the green of the forest, and I had the opportunity to be completely surrounded by this emerald beauty all day long on our hike through a cloud forest just above the town of Samaipata. It's an old-growth forest filled with giant ancient ferns the size of palm trees. With the thick mist swirling all around, it truly felt like a spiritual experience to be among these plants that were here long before we came, and that will remain here long after we leave.
